| 内容記述 | In Japan the coiled basketry technique has developed one of the main techniques for rice-straw basketry (makiwara-zaiku). Two variations of this technique, called here Type A and B, are described in this paper. Coiled basketry consists of two elements, the warp, or foundation, and the weft. The two variations fasten the foundation in slightly different ways: A: the foundation is held together continuously by a single weft (Fig. 1 a, d, f), and, B: the weft is cut at each stitch (Fig. 1 b, c). |
