| 内容記述 | 2009 年，米国南西部先住民ズニのズニ博物館・遺産センターは，将来的な標 本資料の協働的管理の提案を目的として，国立民族学博物館が所蔵するズニ関 連標本資料の熟覧調査を行った。本稿は，このズニ博物館長が民博で実施した， ズニ関連資料31 点の熟覧作業の過程と熟覧結果の報告を行うことを目的とす る。その際，まず標本資料収集や展示や博物館標本資料の先住民コミュニティ への返還の歴史に注目しながら，米国内の民族学系博物館と先住民との関係に ついて概略を記す。次に，米国南西部先住民ズニが運営するトライブ博物館の 機能やコミュニティにおける役割，そして標本資料の返還の代替案としてズニ 博物館が実施計画中の，外部の博物館との新たな関係性の構築に向けた取り組 みを紹介する。まとめとして，先住民による博物館資料へのアプローチについ て，博物館の公共性の再考をうながす協働という関係性のあり方に注目しなが ら考察する。 |

| 内容記述 | In 2009, the director of the A:shiwi A:wan Museum and Heritage Center (Zuni Museum) visited the Japan National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku), and undertook a collection review for the purpose of seeking further possibilities for collaborative management between Minpaku and the Zuni Museum concerning 31 items from the Zuni community. The purpose of this paper is to report on this project and the result of the collection review. Firstly, the relationships between Native Americans and ethnological museums are reviewed, focusing on the collection, display, and repatriation of items to the indigenous source community. Next, introducing the function of the “Tribal Museum” owned by the Native Americans, and its social roles in the community, I illustrate the significance of an alternative way of repatriation as well as of re-constructing the relationships between the source community and ethnological museums. In conclusion, this paper will discuss the public nature of the museum in the light of collaborative relationships. |
