| 内容記述 | 本稿は，筆者がこれまで行ってきた，民族誌資料の制作者名遡及調査の結果 をまとめたものである。対象としたのは，国立民族学博物館が所蔵する米国南 西部先住民「ホピ（Hopi）製」木彫人形資料273 点で，比較のために広島県福 山市の日本郷土玩具博物館所蔵資料（324 点）と愛知県犬山市の野外民族博物 館リトルワールド所蔵資料（83 点）を用いた。木彫人形が作られ利用されるホ ピ社会における文化的文脈や歴史性を踏まえつつ，人形の底面に記載された制 作者もしくは収集者のサインを既存の管理情報と照合しながら，資料受入時の 資料情報の文書化（ドキュメンテーション）過程を分析し，制作者名の遡及を 実施した。 |

| 内容記述 | This paper is a report on tracing the names of makers of the ethnological materials. In particular, a wooden doll collection labeled as originating from Native American Hopi in the National Museum of Ethnology (273 pieces) was investigated, and the collections of other Japanese museums were used for comparison, namely those of the Japan Folk Toy and Doll Museum (324 pieces), and the Little World Museum of Man (83 pieces). The names of the carvers were traced by checking up the museum collection documentation with material scrutiny in the light of Hopi cultural and historical contexts of making and using dolls. |
