This paper specifically describes an examination of \nwheelchairs in the video-dance, “Tiresias” (2007), which was created primar\u0002ily by Petra Kuppers, a researcher and activist of disability arts. In this work, \nthe materiality of wheelchairs not only sinks into unconsciousness as embodi-\nment; it also evokes various sensations and emotions in individual bodies and \nexplores the “function” and “metaphor” of wheelchairs. The individual and \nintimate relations between the wheelchair and the body present the possibility \nof cultural meanings and actions of the wheelchair.
