 note = {社会運動とミュージアムとの関係に近年注目が集まっている。ミュージアム
研究においてミュージアムが論争や抵抗の場になったり社会変容の手段になっ
たりする過程がさかんに議論される一方で，社会運動研究は運動がミュージア
ムを設立したり活用したりする過程を軽視してきた。本稿では，フランスの社
会学者ピエール・ブルデューのハビトゥスと界という概念を参考にしながら，
熊本県水俣市の水俣病センター相思社（以下，相思社）がいかにして「水俣病
歴史考証館」という展示施設を設立することになったか，なぜ相思社は裁判闘
争や直接行動から水俣病の歴史を伝える「考証館運動」へと運動方針を転換し
たのかを検討する。そのうえでこの方針転換は，社会運動で蓄積した各種の資
源，職員の抵抗のハビトゥス，さらには水俣病運動界の変容に依存しており，
運動によってつくり出された社会的諸条件の総体を検討することによってより
深く理解できることを論じる。, Increasing scholarly interest surrounds the relations between museums 
and social movements. Although museum scholars have argued about how 
museums became sites of controversy or protest, or contributed as agents of 
social change, social movement scholars have almost entirely neglected how 
social movements created a museum or the roles which museums take in 
social activism. By referring to the concepts of habitus and field defined by 
French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, this article presents an exploration based 
on the author’s fieldwork conducted at an NGO in Minamata City: Soshisha,Minamata Disease Support Center (Soshisha). The article explains how they 
established a ‘homemade’ museum within the site and why they shifted their 
main emphasis of activity from demanding relief measures for victims and 
supporting victims materially and spiritually to transmitting the truth and significance of the Minamata disease incident to society. This article states that 
Soshisha’s activity of transmitting the history of Minamata disease depends 
upon the resources they had accumulated in movements, the members’ habitus of resistance, and the transformation in the Minamata disease movement 
field. Their genesis and success can be understood more deeply by examining 
the social conditions which the Minamata disease movements produced.},
