The shorelines of the\nislands are bordered by coral reefs, where various fishing techniques\nsuch as the use of nets, hand-lines and diving have been practiced.\nUsing sociological statistics, this paper analyzes some aspects\nof a fishing community at Tonoshiro, Ishigaki City, where there are\n118 fishermen's households, 55 households of which are engaged in\ndiving for fish.
