Magemono consists of two parts; a base (soko-ita) and a wall (gawa-ita). Three techniques are employed to join the base and the wall: kaki-ire, uchi-komi and nui-tsuke. Many similarities exist between magemono- and birchbark-work. This paper analyzes the National Museum of Ethnology's collection magemono and birchbark box specimens, obtained from Japan and elsewhere in East Asia.}, pages = {798--820}, title = {国立民族学博物館所蔵の曲物細工について}, volume = {4}, year = {1980}, yomi = {ナカムラ, シュンキチ} }
