Statistical\nanalysis indicates that there are clear and meaningful differences\nbetween these ethnic groups. Considerable regional variations\nin personality exist within Japan for some items examined, whereas\nothers vary only slightly. In general, variation is far less clear\nthan expected.\nResearch data indicate that the_ kenminsei-(-p refectural- personalities)\ndiscussed frequently by the general public seem to\nexist, although they are not particularly distinct and should not\nbe overstressed.
