This language\nis now spoken by half a million people, most of whom inhabit\nthe Kathmandu Valley.\nDespite its long history and large population of native\nspeakers, Newari has attracted relatively little scholarly attention,\nand there are few reliable publications on it. Much more\nresearch should be conducted on this language, since it has\nseveral important keys for examining the proto-TB morphosyntax,\nproviding link among TB sub-groups.\nThis paper is a checklist on Newari ergativity. Ergativity\nhas a close connection with pronominal morphology of TB, one\nof the good historical criteria of the language group. Bauman\n[1975] made an extensive comparison of pronominal aspects of\nTB, thus providing the global scope of TB transitivity types as\nwell as split. However, he did not discuss Newari directly.\nStimulated by Bauman [1975] and DeLancey [1981], Givon\npresented a paper describing Newari ergative morphology.\nAlthough further analysis may be required, his paper provides\nthe best starting point for the present work. This paper attempts\nto supplement that by Givon.\nErgativity is one of the most controversial morphosyntactic\ntopics of TB linguistics. 'Ergative' is, as I understand it, one of\nthe transitivity structures in which the transitive agent is marked\nsyntactically and/or morphologically.\nAs Bauman pointed out [BADMAN 1975: 221-222], TB has\na variety of morphological types of ergativity, the appearance of\nwhich varies among languages. Hayu, on the one hand,\nrepresents an extreme in which ergative markers consistently\noccur and no accusative type is observed. In some languages,\non the other hand, a high optionality of markers (ergative and\naccusative) is seen. A very limited number of the TB languages\nare consistently ergative and many others belong to 'splitergative'\ntype. This will be further sub-classified according to\nthe degree of optionality and mixture of case markers.\nNewari is said to belong to split-ergative type; therefore,\nthe description here will be focussed on how 'split' and/or 'mixed'\nit is in terms of ergativity.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_9_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15021/00004358","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_9_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国立民族学博物館"}]},"item_9_publisher_34":{"attribute_name":"出版者(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"National Museum of Ethnology"}]},"item_9_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00091943","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_9_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0385-180X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_9_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"長野, 泰彦"},{"creatorName":"ナガノ, ヤスヒコ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"},{"creatorName":"Nagano, Yasuhiko","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{},{},{},{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2015-11-19"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"KH_011_4_001.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.2 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"KH_011_4_001.pdf","url":"https://minpaku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/4366/files/KH_011_4_001.pdf"},"version_id":"8b4cc3b5-460f-4745-b313-7517f79d5e11"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"ネワール語の能格現象","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"ネワール語の能格現象"},{"subitem_title":"Ergativity of the Newar Language","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"9","owner":"17","path":["459"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2010-02-16"},"publish_date":"2010-02-16","publish_status":"0","recid":"4366","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["ネワール語の能格現象"],"weko_creator_id":"17","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-20T17:59:21.622903+00:00"}
