Canada's immigration policies, especially\nexclusionist immigration policies and the racially unbiased\npolicy known as the \"point system\", are discussed.\nThe second section traces Muslim and Arab immigration to\nCanada and British Columbia, leading to the present. Ismaili\nand Iranian communities are examined, as are a few groups of\nArab origin.\nThe third and fourth sections discuss the situation of the\nMuslim and Arab communities in Canada today. The development\nof the Muslim communities, and the problem of ethnic\nidentities are discussed. This provide an initial insight into the\nethnic and religious biases that existed in Canada in the past\nand continue to the present.
