It is named after the main deity in the part\nof the pap, i.e., mahadeva or :siva who is represented by eleven clay\nliriga figures. A brahmin householder performs it daily, in the\nmorning. The procedure is as follows : a performer washes his\nteeth and body, puts on new clothes, and prepares the place for\nthe ceremony, usually on the veranda of his house. With the\ngopicandan clay he makes marks on his forehead and other parts\nof the body, sets the ceremony utensils in order, and begins the\nsamdhy-upasana. Its constituent parts are: 1. pranayama, or\nrestraint of breath; 2. marjana, or sprinkling oneself with water;\n3. aghamarsana, or wiping-off evil; 4. sarya-upasthana, or worship\nof the sun; 5. gayatri-japa, or mute muttering of the gayatri mantra;\n6. tarpana, or satisfying by offering water of gods, sages and\nancestors; and 7. sarya-arghya, or offering water to the sun.\nAfter completion of the samdhya-upasana, the performer again\nmakes marks on his forehead and body, this time with ashes, and\narranges the utensils for the deity puja. The deities worshipped\nare: 1. five gods beginning with Surya; 2. Visnu; 3. Narmadesvara;\n4. Laksmi; 5. Sarasvati; 6. Durga; 7. Bhuvanesvari; 8. Daksinakali;\n9. Sitala; 10. Visahari; 11. Hanuman; 12. tulasi-tree; 13. Kirtimukha;\n14. Mahadeva; and 15. Brahma. In the puja for Visnu,\ntwo Salagrama stones are treated as representing Visnu, and the\nfamous purusasukta from the Rgveda is recited. Sitala and Visahari\ncan be seen as local deities of Bengal cultures. Bhuvanesvari\nand Daksinakali belong to the tantric deities. The list of the gods\nshows that this Mahadevapuja is of synthetic character, including\nnot only the sivaite gods but also the visnuite and local deities.\nIn this sense it betrays the common figure of present day hinduism.\nA description of this puja is based on observations made twice in\n1987 and 1988, in Mithila, in northern Bihar. The sources of\nthe accompanying mantras are traced, as far as possible, but not\nthoroughly, to the vedic and other literatures. The distribution\nof the sources of the recited mantras shows that, in forming this\nMahadevapuja, the late vedic parisesa and the purciva litertures\nhave played a very important role. It can be suggested provisionally\nthat, by following the development of this daily ceremony\nin the different stages of sanskrit literature from the vedic to the\npuranas, a model of hinduization of the vedic tradition can be\ndeveloped.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_9_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15021/00004301","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_9_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国立民族学博物館"}]},"item_9_publisher_34":{"attribute_name":"出版者(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"National Museum of Ethnology"}]},"item_9_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00091943","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_9_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0385-180X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_9_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"永ノ尾, 信悟"},{"creatorName":"エイノオ, シンゴ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"},{"creatorName":"Einoo, Shingo","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2015-11-19"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"KH_014_2_002.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"11.7 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"KH_014_2_002.pdf","url":"https://minpaku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/4309/files/KH_014_2_002.pdf"},"version_id":"e2ba662a-edee-40d5-859d-eb722bd92072"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Mahādevapūjā : Mithilā地方の事例報告","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Mahādevapūjā : Mithilā地方の事例報告"},{"subitem_title":"Mahādevapūjā : A Study of a Daily Ceremony Performed in Mithilā","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"9","owner":"17","path":["449"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2010-02-16"},"publish_date":"2010-02-16","publish_status":"0","recid":"4309","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Mahādevapūjā : Mithilā地方の事例報告"],"weko_creator_id":"17","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-20T19:28:14.284611+00:00"}
