In some respects the Zhuang extensively accepted\n\"sinicization\" of their culture\n, while in others they maintained thier traditions.\nTherefore, it is essential to map in which parts of their culture the\nZhuang accepted \"sinicization,\" and in which parts they retained their\nown culture.\nBy using mainly Chinese source materials, this paper surveys the process\nof formation of seasonal ceremonies of the Zhuang, especially in the\nperiod before 1949, the year of the founding of the People's Republic of\nChina. Through research and examination, the author has reached the\nfollowing conclusions:\n(1) With regard to the origin and the process of formation of\nceremonies, there are two main types and some sub-types:\n①ceremonies that the Zhuang accepted from the Han-Chinese, and\nwhich are similar to those of Han-Chinese in content. They can be further\nclassified into two sub-types:\nⅰ) ceremonies that were widespread among the Zhuang, including\nthose that changed among the Han while remaining unchanged among\nthe Zhuang, such as the Chuxi (New year's eve) , the Chunjie (New\nyear's festival) , the Yuanxiao jie (the Lantern festival of 15th day of the\n1st lunar month) , the She jie (offering sacrifices to the god of earth and\ngrain, praying for good harvest) , the San yue san (the 3rd day of the 3rd\nlunar month, the singing festival or sweeping of the tomb of their\nancestors) , the Duanwu jie (the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, the\nDragon boat festival) , and the Zaowang jie (ceremony of the god of the\nkitchen) .\nii) ceremonies that were not widespread among the Zhuang, such as\nthe Lichun (ceremony held on the beginning of spring) , the Guan fo hui\n(the birthday of Buddha, the 8th day of the 4th lunar month) , the\nTiankuang jie (airing all clothes and books, the 6th day of the 6th lunar\nmonth) , the Qixi jie (the 7th evening of the 7th lunar month) , the\nChongyang jie (the 9th day of the 9th lunar month festival) , the Hanyi\njie (the ceremony of winter garments for the dead, at the beginning of\nwinter) , the Dongzhi jie (the winter solstice) .\n②ceremonies that have elements both of the Han and of the Zhuang\n(or that are common to non-Chinese people who live in South China) .\nⅰ) some parts of the ceremonies peculiar to Zhuang, with the Zhuang\naccepting ceremonies from the Han similar to those of their own, and\nwith the Han dates and names, such as the Duige (the singing in antiphonal\nstyle, found in the Chunjie, Yuanxiao jie, San yue san, Duanwu\njie, Zhongyuan jie, Zhongqiu jie and others) , processed foodstuffs made\nfrom glutinous rice that are used as special food for ceremonies (such as\nthe cooked glutinous rice pounded into paste, the rice dumpling wrapped\nin leaves) , the Niuhun jie (the ceremony of honoring cattle for their services)\n, the Huapo jie (the birthday of the godess for birth and growth of\nchildren in the Ming period) .\nii) ceremonies peculiar to the Zhuang, but which also have some\nelements of Han in their contents, such as the Moyi Dawang (Bouxvueng\nItmoz, in Zhuang) festival, the Maguai (Goep, in Zhuang) festival and\nthe Shuang-jiang jie (Frost's Descent festival) .\niii) ceremonies whose origins are hard to trace, but in which one can\nfind elements of the Han after a certain period, such as the ceremony that\nwas held at transplanting rice seedlings, the Tudi shen ceremony (offerning\nsacrifices to the god of earth in the 6th lunar month) , the Zhongyuan\njie (the festival of the dead in early autumn) , the Zhongqiu jie (the fullmoon\nfestival in the 15th day of the 8th lunar month) , the harvest\nfestival in autumn and others.\nIt is apparent that all of the types mentioned above, to a certain extent,\ncontain elements of the Han, not only among the type © but also\nthe type ②. In the case of the contents of ceremonies peculiar to the\nZhuang, these are also special elements of ceremonies similar to those of\nthe Han. In the case of original Zhuang ceremonies, there are also\nelements of the Han. We know that the Zhuang have seasonal\nceremonies compounded both of the Han and the Zhuang. This point is\na characteristic feature of the Zhuang seasonal ceremonies.\n(2) There are regional differences in Guangxi that have developed from\nthe formation process of seasonal ceremonies. We can classify them into\nthe following three types:\ni) Regional difference with respect to (a) the west, northwest, north\ndistricts, (b) the east, southeast districts, (c) the central district. This\nkind of regional difference was caused by the acceptance of the Han\nculture in different periods of time or place. We can arrange (b) (c) (a) ,\nin order of the degree of \"sinicization\". Especially in the (b) area we\ntend to find that the Zhuang accepted the Han culture and lost their traditional\nculture.\nii) Regional difference caused by difference in the governing system\nbetween the area under Tusi control and the area under direct Han control.\nThe Tusi accepted the Han culture in the Tusi area rather recently,\nunder the leadership of chieves (Tusi, Tuguan) who wanted to imitate\nthe Han culture.\niii) Regional difference caused by difference in the origin of the\nZhuang. For instance, the Moyi Dawang Festival was held among those\nwho migrated from Nandan Prefecture to Longsheng Prefecture, and\nthose who live in the Liujiang and Longjiang valleys; on the other hand,\nthe Zhuang who live in other areas do not have this god. In spite of the\nuniformity to a certain extent among the Zhuang of seasonal ceremonies,\nwe can find the above-mentioned regional differences. This point is\nanother characteristic feature of the seasonal ceremonies of the Zhuang.\nMoreover, there are regional differences not only among the Zhuang\nbut also among the Han. There are local groups that each have a\ndifferent history and who migrated from different areas in different\ntimes, such as the \" Zheyuan ren\" ,\"Baixing ren\" ,\"Liujia ren\" (they seem\nto belong to the \"Pinghua ren\" in language) , and the immigrants from\nGuangdong and Hunan Provinces. All these came by their own paths to\nthe places where they settled, and therefore formed regional differences.\nFinally, as to why the Zhuang accepted the ceremonies of the Han,\nwe can suppose that, apart from their desire to obtain Han culture, it was\nthe effect of the policy of chieves in the Tusi areas and the wish of individuals\nto better their social position in areas directly controled by the\nHan.\n","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_9_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15021/00004244","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_9_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国立民族学博物館"}]},"item_9_publisher_34":{"attribute_name":"出版者(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"National Museum of Ethnology"}]},"item_9_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00091943","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_9_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0385-180X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_9_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"塚田, 誠之"},{"creatorName":"ツカダ, シゲユキ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"},{"creatorName":"Tsukada, Shigeyuki","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{},{},{},{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2015-11-19"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"KH_017_2_001.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"6.1 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"KH_017_2_001.pdf","url":"https://minpaku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/4252/files/KH_017_2_001.pdf"},"version_id":"9f57b070-7cf8-438e-bf54-fa0a48f74c77"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"チュワン族|年中行事|成立過程|チュワン族的・漢族的両要素の複合性|地域差","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Zhuang|seasonal ceremony|process of formation|complexes compound elements of Han-Chinese and that of peculiar to Zhuang|regional difference","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"チュワン族の年中行事に関する史的考察 : 成立過程を中心に","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"チュワン族の年中行事に関する史的考察 : 成立過程を中心に"},{"subitem_title":"Historical Study of the Seasonal Ceremonies of Zhuang, China : Focusing on the Process of Formation","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"9","owner":"17","path":["437"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2010-02-16"},"publish_date":"2010-02-16","publish_status":"0","recid":"4252","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["チュワン族の年中行事に関する史的考察 : 成立過程を中心に"],"weko_creator_id":"17","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-20T17:17:17.766372+00:00"}
