When\nwe are investigating how a matter is viewed by an ethnic group, the formulaic\nphrases that we find in their oral poetry are valuable owing to\ntheir very formulaic nature because the common, ordinary views of a\nsociety can be embodied in those phrases.\nBy using Yi source materials, this paper describes and surveys the\nformulaic phrases whose content can reflect how the Yi people living in\nthe Liang-shan district, Si-chuan, China, viewed the Han-Chinese in the\npast. Then, based on the described images of the Han-Chinese, the\nauthor examines how the Yi people saw ethnic relations with the Han-\nChinese.\nThe Yi are an ethnic minority mainly distributed over the provinces\nof Si-chuan, Yun-nan, Gui-zhou and the Guang-xi Zhuang Autonomous\nRegion. There are about 1,500,000 Yi people in the Liang-shan district\nnow. The language spoken by the Yi belongs to the Tibeto-Burman\ngroup.\nThrough research and examination, the author reached the following\nconclusions:\n(1) It is very probable that the period when the main images of the\nHan-Chinese were formed to be reflected in Yi oral poetry ranges from\nthe Qing dynasty to the Kuomintang period. This conclusion is based\non the fact that there are phrases expressing opium, guns and the ornamental\ngems on caps worn by Qing dynasty officers; it is also sup-\nported by the fact that the phenomena reflected in the oral poetry agree\nwith those reported in the ethnographies written by those who visited the\nLiang-shan district at that period.\n(2) The Han-Chinese were recognized as an ethnic group distinct\nfrom the Liang-shan Yi themselves. Among the ethnic groups known to\nthe Liang-shan Yi, the Han-Chinese occupied their main interest.\n(3) Two images of the Han-Chinese are especially conspicuous:\ni) One is that of the Han-Chinese as the people in power. We can infer\nthis image from the formulaic expressions concerning Han-Chinese\nofficers accompanied by large armies. The Han-Chinese officers are also\nassociated with jails to put the Liang-shan Yi in. We can suppose that\nthe Liang-shan Yi felt themselves oppressed under the power of the Han-\nChinese officers supported by their overwhelming military force. The Yi\ntried to keep a friendly relationship with the Han-Chinese officers while\nthey could get benefit from it. This makes it easy for us to understand\nwhy the Liang-shan Yi did not hesitate to attack the Han-Chinese once\ntheir power was weakened and the advantage of cooperation with them\nwas lost.\nii) Another image is that of the Han-Chinese as suppliers of commodities.\nThis image can be inferred from many formulaic expressions\nconcerning merchandise sold by the Han-Chinese merchants. It includes\narticles such as salt, cotton cloth, liquor, candy, guns, pans, etc.\nIt is likely that the Liang-shan Yi were attracted by the affluence that the\nHan-Chinese possessed. That affluence itself may have stimulated the\nYi to plunder the Han-Chinese.\n4) In many formulaic phrases, political and economic activities are\nassociated with cities and streets where Han-Chinese lived. It is probable\nthat the cities located around the Liang-shan Yi district worked as an important\nplace of contact between the Han-Chinese and the Liang-shan\nYi.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_9_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15021/00004195","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_9_publisher_33":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"国立民族学博物館"}]},"item_9_publisher_34":{"attribute_name":"出版者(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"National Museum of Ethnology"}]},"item_9_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00091943","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_9_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0385-180X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_9_version_type_16":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"小門, 典夫"},{"creatorName":"コカド, ノリオ","creatorNameLang":"ja-Kana"},{"creatorName":"Kokado, Norio","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2015-11-19"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"KH_019_4_002.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.9 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"KH_019_4_002.pdf","url":"https://minpaku.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/4203/files/KH_019_4_002.pdf"},"version_id":"c1b93b6a-5566-4b73-8085-e7c0576bf1da"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"涼山|漢族|口誦詩|固定化した表現|イメージ","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Liang-shan Yi|Han-Chinese|oral poetry|formulaic phrase|image","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"涼山彝族の口誦詩にみえる漢族のイメージ","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"涼山彝族の口誦詩にみえる漢族のイメージ"},{"subitem_title":"Images of the Han Chinese Reflected in the Oral Poetry of the Liang shan Yi","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"9","owner":"17","path":["427"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2010-02-16"},"publish_date":"2010-02-16","publish_status":"0","recid":"4203","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["涼山彝族の口誦詩にみえる漢族のイメージ"],"weko_creator_id":"17","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-20T17:18:21.072862+00:00"}
