It reveals that post-independence Ghana relied heavily\non the cocoa sector in both the economic and the political spheres. In contrast\nto his public anti-colonial campaign, Nkrumah in reality strengthened\nthe economic and political systems associated with the cocoa sector that had\nbeen inherited from the colonial era.
