Additionally, the dialectal characteristics\nof Choswateng Tibetan within the rGyalthang subgroup are discussed.\nAt the end of the article, a wordlist (ca. 1,800 words) of Choswateng Tibetan\nis provided.\nChoswateng Tibetan belongs to the rGyalthang subgroup of the Sems-kyinyila\ndialect group of Khams Tibetan, spoken in the central area of Xianggelila\nCounty. The dialects of this subgroup show great variety in their phonetic and\nphonological aspects, and those spoken in Xiaozhongdian Village have complicated\ncharacteristics. Choswateng Tibetan is one of the dialects with the\nmost complex phonological systems, including a systematic constrast between\nprepalatals and palatals.
