| 内容記述 | 国立民族学博物館（民博）では，全国の研究者から応募を受けつけ，フィルム 写真をデジタル化したりデジタル化済み写真をデータベースに登録したりする 研究支援をおこなってきた。応募できるのは，日本学術振興会が採択した科研 費プロジェクトの研究代表者と研究分担者である。われわれ支援側の関係者が DiPLAS と呼ぶこの事業は，2021 年度でひとまず終了するが，さまざまな意義 を有している。本特集では，異なる立場の関係者がその意義を論じる。 事業の背景としては，館外研究者の写真資料に応用できるデータベース構築 のノウハウを民博が蓄積してきたことがある。また，情報通信技術の進展や学 術資料公開の動き，博物館活動における資料の由来地の人びと（ソースコミュ ニティ）との協業の重視など，社会的状況も無視できない。しかし，写真のデー タベース登録と基本情報の入力を支援者側がおこない，写真撮影状況をふまえ ながら被支援者が時間をかけて写真の内容を自由記述するという役割分担が確 定するまでには，さまざまな議論や試行錯誤があった。この序論では，そうし たプロセスの一端を示すため，DiPLAS に関連するシンポジウム（2019 年度） と公開セミナー（2020 年度）のようすを紹介する。今後，さまざまな関係者が このデータベースを共有財産として「育て」られるよう，支援者側は運営体制 を整えることが求められる。 |

| 内容記述 | The National Museum of Ethnology, Japan (Minpaku) has received applications from researchers all over the country to provide research support for digitizing film photographs and registering them into a database. Applicants should be a principal investigator or co-investigator of a research project supported by a KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). This research support is designated as DiPLAS by supporting officials. This project will end in 2021 for the time being, but it has various points of significance. In this special issue, stakeholders from different positions will discuss its significance. The project background is that Minpaku has accumulated know-how related to database building that is applicable to photographs of researchers outside the institute. Additionally, social currents such as the progress of information and communication technology, the movement of sharing academic materials, and the emphasis on collaboration with the people of the origin of museum materials (or source communities) cannot be ignored. However, many discussions and trial-and-error attempts have been made to clarify roles in the support project, where the supporters register the photographs in the database and input their basic information, while the supportees take time to input detailed descriptions based on the photograph situation. In this introduction, to illustrate some processes, presentations and Q and A in two publicity events related to DiPLAS are reviewed. In the future, supporters must prepare so that various parties can “enhance” this database as a shared property. |
